Population served
The population is mainly for the west valley area of Phoenix. This encompasses several retirement communities and young families. Crisis situations occur across gender, economic, social, racial and cultural boundaries. Therefore there is a need for crisis intervention for all of the populations within the local community.
Community need/impact
The services that crisis responders provide assist citizens with obtaining services they need due to a crisis related situation. It allows fire and police personnel to go back in service for the next emergency call while they can be assured the citizens' needs are being attended to. Due to crisis situations occuring this service is always needed.
The positive impact on the population is helping someone during a heightened time of crisis when it is difficult to comprehend what is going on and what needs to be done next. Crisis responders provide emotional support and knowledge to determine what needs to be done based on the specific situation. This helps the population by helping individuals within the community get through a crisis and be able to obtain a level of stability once it is initially over.
