- Lead educational activities in Math, Literature, Science, Cooking and Technology
- Provide assistance in organizational responsibilities of the Si Se Puede! Learning Center
Population served
This internship opportunity will serve at-risk elementary students in an affordable housing apartment community in El Mirage, AZ. They are in need of services because they do not often receive enough parental support for their educational studies, due to time or language barriers.
Community need/impact
There is a need in this community to provide safe places after-school that will help elementary students improve in their educational endeavors, and keep them out of trouble during these high-risk hours.
The intern will be able to see the difference they make in this community through the improvement in understanding of the students' school work. They will also come to understand how much the program gives to this community by keeping the students with a safe environment in which to become empowered.
