MESA UNITED WAY/ HELENS HOPE CHEST
When foster children are removed by CPS they usually arrive on the doorstep of a foster parent wearing what they are standing up in. The State of AZ cut the clothing allowance to $12. per month per child and also reduced care fee of the child by 20% or more. Mesa United Way set up Helens hope Chest to help cover the needs. They can shop for free 4 times a year for hygiene, new underwear, clothing and school supplies, shoes.The boutique is run with volunteers and donations. Our mission is to promote comunity awareness of foster children, provide opportunities for volunteering and donations. Provide a positive experience of all those that visit HHC. Support foster and kin ship families Give a sense of control back to these children.

Helen's Hope Chest is a service of Mesa United Way. We serve foster families in a unique, boutique like setting where they can shop for clothing and other basic need items all free of charge. We are looking for service learning volunteers who can help us with all of our normal volunteer tasks.
