Childcare Teacher Aide

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Fingerprint/background clearance is required.Finger print clearnace is required to work with the preschool. As a licensed program the State of Arizona requires all staff to maintain a current fingerprint card.
Background clearance is also required for this internship. South Mountain YMCA will cover any cost all costs to background check.

REQUIRED/DESIRED SKILLS
CPR/First Aid, current TB test (within past year), fingerprint clearance, desire to work with children, desire to teach children, ability to be positive role model, desire to create lesson plans with supervision and help of teacher, and a positive attitude.

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
Duties
Assist teachers in preschool with learning activities and lessons for children ages 2-5.
Population served
Children ages 2-5. this population is in need of positive adult role models to help foster learning and development as well as promote healthy living/nutrition. The community we serve is a lower income community. Most of our children are provided preschool financial assistance through DES or our Open Doors program (financial assistance/sliding scale).
Community need/impact
Developing skills of preschool age children so that they are prepared to enter kindergarden.
Preparing children to enter kindergarten, teaching children life skills, preparing children to be productive students and community members.
