Primary Hours needed will be 3-6 pm M,T,W, TH to assist at the Carl Hayden Community center.

We will also need interns for monthly Saturday athletic camps and various  tabling/educational events throughout the week/weekend. These hours are very flexible and can be tailored to suit our intern(s)

REQUIRED/DESIRED SKILLS

We would like our interns to be; bi-lingual (or have some Spanish language experience) computer literate, outgoing, patient, organized, sport familiar, good organization skills, artistic and be able to communicate clearly.

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

Duties

Interns will assist with the MANO Coalition and with youth programs at the Carl Hayden Community Center with homework, computer literacy, sports camps, interact and play games or whatever may be scheduled at the center. 

Interns will also assist at tabling events held at various locations with the dissemination of information educating the community on the risks involved with underage drinking and substance abuse.

Interns will assist in  athletic programs which coincide with underage drinking and substance abuse prevention programs

Population served

The population served will be Communities surrounding the; Creighton, Phoenix elementary, Murphy and Isaac School Districts.

Community need/impact

The Community needs addressed will be; parent/youth workshops(negative effects of underage drinking/substance abuse), academic assistance, computer literacy, arts/crafts, recreational activities and providing athletic camps to underprivileged youth.

Youth will be able to relate to other "students" as well as have positive role models who are currently pursuing their college education, which will create a positive "norm" for our youth and adults to associate with.
