ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

Duties

The intern will be working with at risk youth in South Phoenix, assisting seniors in our service area and also helping with painting projects.

Population served

South Phoenix is primarily Hispanic with a significant African American Population.

Community need/impact

South Phoenix is a culturally diverse community that has ongoing needs because of being under resourced, educational challenges for youth, gang presence and substance abuse. Our hope is to see the youth learn to love life, become a life learner, stay in school and succeed. Our desire is to provide tutors/mentors to help this happen.

Our goal is to see the youth of the community stay in school, be committed to excellence and discover the power in being community service oriented.
