ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
Duties
The internship would work with a combination of programs at an Outreach site. The position would assist with running or developing a program (their own interest and talents that would meet approval guidelines), field trips and swimming program. The intern would assist with the development, implementation and assessment of program.
Population served
The Outreach Services Department works with lower-income youth & families to provide them services and program.
Community need/impact
Providing youth with a safe and fun environment is key to keeping youth out of harms way in the community. Many of these youth would be home unsupervised or out on the streets. Providing quality supervised programs is essential for the families we serve.
Many youth do not have the ability to pay for programs such as music, art, swimming and we depend on staff, volunteers and other community members to provide these opportunities to youth. The intern could make an impact on one or many youth with their time.
