ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

Duties

Center for African American Health Arizona (CAAHAZ) is preparing the community for emergencies through education and outreach.

Interns will be trained as trainers in Holistic Urgent Response Training (HURT) program.

Interns will implement the HURT program throughout the community.

Interns will assist in outreach by implementing a survey on preparedness to the community.

Population served

African Americans, and all community members interested in participating.

Community need/impact

In Maricopa County African Americans comprise 4% of the population, and yet they have higher incidents of mortality in 9 of the top 10 chronic diseases.
The Center for African American Health Arizona seeks to end the disparities in health through community engagement, education, and awareness.

A more enlightened, conscience community.
