SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Fingerprint/background clearance is required. The interns will be required to obtain a fingerprint clearance card, and all of the necessary paperwork to apply can be completed at our 44th Street offices. There is no cost to the student; fees are paid by the school. The interns may begin working with our students while waiting for their fingerprint cards--they can begin as soon as paperwork is completed at our offices.
The training generally occurs on an individual basis, once the intern is assigned to a specific classroom or tutoring duty. The intern is trained by both the classroom teacher and a school administrator.

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
Duties
Interns will be working directly with Teleos Prep students, tutoring, mentoring, and supervising completion of homework, as well as working alongside our classroom teachers to support the learning environment.
Population served
Teleos is a Title I school located in downtown Phoenix. Our student population is approximately 75% African American, 12% Hispanic, and many of our students qualify for free or reduced lunches.
Community need/impact
Interns will help support our urban community by providing students the opportunity to meet and exceed grade level standards and enjoy the same opportunities as their peers in more affluent areas.
Teleos focuses on closing the achievement gap among the urban Phoenix population. We believe that education is the key to opening doors of opportunity in our society, and our goal is to provide our students with opportunities to dream big and attain their future educational and professional goals.
