Duties
To provide reading or math tutoring to 5th and 6th grade English Language Leaners.
To establish a relationship and provide a positive role-model that will inspire students to achieve academically.
Population served
African refugee and Mexican immigrant Title I students who need extra time to maintain grade level acheivement in math and reading.
Community need/impact
Second langaguage learners who have a reading and/or math challenge.
Our students have proven to make excellent gains in reading and math when provided with targeted and well-planned tutoring classes. Our students have loving and supportive families, but because of social and geopolitcal circumstances are not able to provide the academic role-models our students need to aspire to higher academic attainment. A dedicated Intern could meet both of these needs, and impact the future.
