Population served
Latinas, grades K-12. Currently, we remain at 68% parity in our membership. Over the next 5 years, we hope to raise that to 100% Data collected from the Girl Scouts Research Institute indicates a positive correlation with childhood Girl Scouting experience and future academic and professional success. By providing increased access to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to all girls, we strengthen our community.
Community need/impact
Girl Scouts-Arizona Cactus Pine Council provides girls in Kindergarten through 12th grade with a diversity of programs focused on developing leadership abilities and a positive sense of self-worth. Through Girl Scouting, girs gain the skills and confidence they need to make healthy choices, work collaboratively with a diversity of individuals and communities, and take action to make their wold a better place. However, enagement of Hispanic girls remains low. Our goal is to achieve 100% parity in our membership with the population of our service area.
Through our emphasis on emerging markets, we will increase the number of girls served with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
