ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

Duties

• Assist clients in our Career Services area with online job searching techniques, applying for positions online, formatting resumes, and even applying for unemployment
• Ensure that clients who visit Career Services are aware of the ability to meet with a Career Coach, attend various career-oriented workshops and other services provided by the Resource Center
• Assist with planning & organization of various Career Services events, i.e. Career Fair, Starting Fresh Back to School Event.
• Assist with set up and serve as a liaison between Career & Program Services Manager and career workshop presenters
• Other duties as assigned

Population served

Fresh Start Women's Foundation serves women aged 18 and older in the community with a large portion of the demographic being women that are going through some type of transitional period.

Community need/impact

With an extremely competitive job market, our clients are in need of the resources, tips and tools that will help them to stand out and have the confidence they'll need in order to locate the position that is most suitable for them.  The Career Services area within Fresh Start Women's Foundation will focus on assisting women who are unemployed or underemployed to gain the resources they need in order to showcase their skills and talents and obtain their goals of sustainable employment.

In assisting these clients, the interns will be able to see and feel the immediate impact this will have on their (clients') ability to utilize our many resources to obtain their goals and objectives of finding employment as well as improving other areas of their and their family's lives.
