Must attend Volunteer training - Pick one date

Aug. 28th 1-4pm, Sept. 4th 3:15-6:15pm, Sept 5th 3:15-6:15, or Sept. 12th 1-4pm

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

Duties

Looking for the perfect place to hang out and have fun?  Equipped with Wii, dance pads, carpet ball, and many more games, this room is the answer.  USL students will interact with members to engage them in activities in the game room.  Tis may include conversations, board games, tournaments, etc.  

 

Population served

It is in the area of South Phoenix, a very diverse and culturally rich community.  However, the demographics of this community fall below the national average in areas such as education, food, clothing, health care and many more.  The Kroc Center presents opportunities in a state-of-the-art facility to foster wellness, recreation, the arts, education, and spiritual growth.

 

Community need/impact

The community has few family and youth friendly options to spend time doing positive activities.  The game room at the Kroc Center provides a safe place to have fun and build relationships.

By interning at the Kroc Center, students will be able to take part in building a positive culture within the center that will then pour out into the surrounding community.  Participants interacting with USL students will experience positive relationships and be exposed to great models that will encourage a successful future.
