ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

Duties

Our lab offers 18 personal computers with internet access to assist you with your computing needs.  Come research a topic, write a paper, apply for a job, surf the web, or play an educational game. USL students will assist members in computer use, monitor computer use and answer questions dealing with the internet with great customer service.  Students may also teach basic computer courses if qualified.

Population served

It is in the area of South Phoenix, a very diverse and culturally rich community.  However, the demographics of this community fall below the national average in areas such as education, food, clothing, health care and many more.  The Kroc Center presents opportunities in a state-of-the-art facility to foster wellness, recreation, the arts, education, and spiritual growth.

Community need/impact

This community alls below the national average in education.  This opportunity will provide the community with acces to computers they would normally not have in thier home.  As well as help with understanding how to work the computer and explore the endless possibilities of the internet.

By interning at the Kroc Center, students will be able to take part in building a positive culture within the center that will then pour out into the surrounding community.  Participants interacting with USL students will experience positive relationships and be exposed to great models that will encourage a successful future.
