ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
Duties
Open only to USL 210 students.
Exploring Books and Music Theory
Open up a book and explore the endless adventures it can offer Kids will participate in a variety of activities in the library making stories come to life. (M/W/F)
Interested in music? This class will introduce you to basic music theory with movement and voice. (T/TH)
Population served
It is in the area of South Phoenix, a very diverse and culturally rich community. However, the demographics of this community fall below the national average in areas such as education, food, clothing, health care and many more. The Kroc Center presents opportunities in a state-of-the-art facility to foster wellness, recreation, the arts, education, and spiritual growth.
Community need/impact
This community falls below the national average for education. This class will build interest in reading and music in a fun atmosphere.
By interning at the Kroc Center, students will be able to take part in building a positive culture within the center that will then pour out into the surrounding community. Participants interacting with USL students will experience positive relationships and be exposed to great models that will encourage a successful future.
