Make an ONLINE GIFT to University Service Learning.University Service Learning (USL) is committed to creating a culture of civic engagement, generating positive social change, and building a bridge between ASU and the community.
USL programs increase opportunities to address unmet community needs by:
- Offering collegiate courses that link curriculum with community service
- Serving as a resource for community agencies, faculty, K-12 teachers, and families
- Partnering community agencies and schools with ASU students and staff
Programs
America Reads
Provides tutoring/mentoring services to children from low-income neighborhoods at community centers and schools. Employs work-study eligible ASU students as tutor/mentors.
AmeriCorps
A national community service program that focuses on increasing awareness of community issues and rewards participants contributing significant amounts of service with Education Awards to pursue their educational goals. Participants must meet very specific eligibility requirements.
Leaps and Bounds
A kindergarten readiness program that offers interactive workshops for parents and training for early childhood professionals.
Service Learning Courses
Enrolled ASU students learn about civic engagement and community issues through academic coursework and approved service activities. Students select a service placement from a list of approved community partners.
